About
Hey, I’m Mark Ormesher — a hands-on problem solver who loves figuring out how things work, whether that’s a circuit, a software tool, or a piece of home gym equipment.
I’ve always been drawn to projects that mix curiosity with practicality. Over the years I’ve written my own running software to track performance, learned to weld so I could build my own home squat rack, and spent countless weekends fixing, improving, or experimenting with something around the house. For me, part of the fun of home ownership is learning how to make things better — and doing it myself.
Professionally, my path has zig-zagged between software development and electrical engineering, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I enjoy building reliable systems — whether that means writing C code to automate a process or analyzing a power system to make it safer and more efficient. It’s the same creative satisfaction: identify a problem, dig into how it works, and design something that just fits.
When I’m not tinkering or coding, you’ll probably find me running, strength training, or golfing around the Okanagan Valley. I like testing limits — in training, in design, and in learning — and I get a real kick out of connecting ideas across disciplines.
This site is where I share some of those experiments, lessons, and projects — the things I build, break, and learn along the way. You can also visit blog to read more about the theories, frameworks, and principles I’m exploring across engineering, software, and performance training.
